What a morning! No one woke up to the blaring of the alarm clock. It was 7.00 o’clock when my husband was roused by the honking of the school bus. Darn, and the kids were still sleeping soundly. He sent off the bus and we woke up the kids. He would have to drive them to school in 15 minutes flat so they won’t be late for the first class.

Basil and garlic toast

Not enough time to fix breakfast for the kids. In fact, not enough time for them to eat. They’d have to make up for it with their morning recess. But, not too late to fix something for my husband and myself. He’d come right back home after dropping off the kids so he could shower before leaving for work. So, while he was out, I prepared the butter that I had been thawing all night to make some basil and garlic toast.

WEll, it’s salt and dried mixed herbs. A friend sent me some from Europe. You can make your own though. Oh I should post an entry on making herbed salt. Soon… :)
