But the ground chicken and mushrooms mixture is not easy to form and the patties are really soft rather than firm. I doubt if they can withstand handling and turning on a grill or a frying pan.

Is Kecap Manis really essential?

No, but you’ll miss out a lot on flavor if you omit it.

Chicken and mushrooms burger with garlic fried rice

Are the chicken and mushrooms burgers good with rice too?

Make that garlic fried rice, throw in a fried egg, sunny side up, serve the chicken and mushrooms burgers with them then you tell me if they’re great with rice. :)

This is a healthy way of making burgers, mas low in calorie, i’m cutting my husbands red meat intake too so i’ll definitely try this recipe. I haven’t tried chicken burger yet. Thanks….

Hi Loida. It’s lighter on the digestive system too. Red meat can be so heavy during the summer months.

Hi Fleur. Yes, it is. In fact, it is the most commonly available variety of mushroom in supermarkets. The cheapest too. :)

    Hi Ms. Connie,
I would love to have this recipe with rice or mashed potato - and gravy!
I tried the instant gravy mix sold in supermarket (i wont mention the brand) but it tasted just so fake.

Please share naman a recipe for any suitable gravy. Thanks loads!

    Connie:
Sorry about your data loss of cookbook recipes!
You must invest in a hard drive to copy your work that costs around $80.00 holding 100GB. it has the size and thinness of a wallet. Once the data is copied, then you never have to worry. Ah well, I’ll
still wait for your cookbook though.

  • Connie on Apr 24, 2008 at 1:30 am

I know, Les. It’s a 120GB hard drive. I thought it was just a switch problem, but… I have the text in the Mac but the photos in their original format are in the external drive.

Hi, Miss Connie! Tanong lang po how you incorporate the mushroom… chopped lang tapos halo? Or kasama sya pinagiling kasama ng chicken breast po? I would really like to try this for my nieces who aren’t fond of red meat. Thanks!

    Connie,

I’ve got a bag of oyster mushrooms in the fridge, I’m gonna try this tomorrow. Can I link this page to my blog when I publish the pics of my mushroom burger? I plan to use ground beef instead of chicken as I can’t get the latter here (ground chicken that is).

    Doddie

  • Connie on Apr 24, 2008 at 9:59 pm

pinaygourmand, the chicken meat was already ground when I bought it. The oyster mushrooms were hand chopped then I just mixed all the ingredients together.

    Doddie, of course! And thanks.

malakas naman magpataas ng uric acid levels ang mushrooms kaya if you have gouty arithritis , its not a good idea to eat them too.

my husband has gout, so less red meat and mushrooms are bawal too. but we still eat them. inom lang ng gamot kaagad.
