Favorito ice cream
Been seeing this ice cream brand in the supermarkets for some time now but didn’t get to try them until about a month ago. Right, I took the photo a month ago and forgot to post the entry. Anyway…
It’s called Favorito Ice Cream. Cheaper than Arce, Selecta and Nestle, a half gallon of Favorito ice cream costs PhP 190.00. What really attracted me to the brand was the flavors–very Filipino. There was one with a Spanish sounding name with a photo of what appeared to be Pastillas. We didn’t buy that one though. Not yet, anyway. We tried the vanilla and another flavor that I can’t remember right now. That’s the vanilla ice cream in the photo but of course that’s not how it looked when we bought it. That was how I served it–with fresh strawberries and mango cubes.
My kids said they liked Favorito. Personally, it was okay. You know? Just okay. But then, I’m not really a serious ice cream eater and, maybe, it had something that the kids noticed but missed my usually critical palate. Worth a try, anyway, even if only for the great price tag. ![]()
