Jack’s Loft: ooey gooey cheese sticks, lemon chicken and chicken salad panini
That Sunday when we had lunch at Pho Hoa and dessert at Dairy Queen, we decided to have merienda cena at Jack’s Loft after seeing a movie. It seemed wiser than going straight home then prepare dinner a couple of hours later. But since we weren’t that hungry yet, I figured we could order some light dishes and have dessert afterwards. My daughter, Sam, who had been to Jack’s Loft (and most everywhere else, it seems) with friends had been raving about the dessert.

So, I ordered the ooey gooey cheese sticks (above) for starters. Wonderfully crisp outside and, inside, the cheese was truly ooey gooey. They were just perfect with the tomato dip. Rather overpriced though especially since I felt that they were stingy with the cheese. Those few pieces of cheese sticks cost over a hundred pesos.

Then, we had lemon chicken (above) which Sam insisted was way better than Causeway’s. Well, it was definitely better than Maxim’s.

The chicken salad panini was the real winner as far as I am concerned. There were whole grapes in the salad that was served between split foccaccia. Ooooh, wonderful — the foccaccia made all the difference. One order went for over a hundred pesos but we split the chicken salad panini into four and Alex brought hers home in a paper bag. The serving was that huge.
Jack’s Loft is, first and foremost, a bar. That’s why the finger foods are really good. The ambience, however, is alright for families with teenaged children. I doubt if young kids will appreciate the food there except for the dessert.
Too bad we didn’t get to the dessert part though. We were just too full that no matter how tempting the cakes looked, no one had the heart to order even a single slice. Next time…

I used to live in Eastwood before coming here in the US. Jack’s Loft’s wild rice risotto, penne and chicken fingers, fish bowl iced tea were my staples back then. You get great food for a fairly good price. Try their cheesecake and eclair, yummy! My mom and I wasn’t able to finish our eclair as it was too big a slice and we were too full from our meal.
You are right, Connie, the ambiance is meant for the yuppie crowd especially when you dine inside. My mom likes it al fresco style esp at night.

Thanks for this post. I’ve hesitated several times to try Jack’s Loft as it seemed like a drinking place to me. Now I know better.

as a midwesterner, i can’t imagine cheesesticks outside of dairy country. those look delicious–not overly breaded or greasy.
for me the jack’s loft cheesesticks were second best to The Old Spaghetti House’s version.. though a li’l bit costly for some small pieces.. but it’s surely a piece of heaven for cheese lovers like me. c”,) as for the lemon chicken.. i find it way too sour.. the lemon and the butter did not blend well..
However their tomato cream pasta is the best!
I highly recommend their eclairs. Probably the best i’ve ever tasted
wait, is the jack’s loft in fort bonifacio the same with this jacks loft? is the one in fort still open? i love the devilled shrip there
We found no place to stay yesterday. It was raining hard. We decided to sit and relax at Jack’s Loft,Their place in Trinoma is cool. I love their CHICKEN FINGERS with MAYO DIP! yum!
