Multi-grain bread and pesto cheese spread

We had our first taste of multi-grain bread at Vieux Chalet. But I’ve been told that the flour used for baking the bread is not easily obtainable and, as a result, five-grain bread is not always on the menu. The problem was that the kids have become addicted to it. So, we tried commercial multi-grain breads. Gardenia’s was nothing memorable but my daughter, Sam, felt it was better than none.

When we went to the supermarket a few days ago, Sam specifically asked for multi-grain bread. I checked the shelves of Gardenia’s bread and there was none. My husband, however, found another brand called Uncle George which turned out to be much, much better than Gardenia’s.

Uncle George’s multi-grain bread is great with pork afritada or, if you want a light meal, try it with Pesto Cheese Spread.

Bravo! Pesto Cheese Spread is my new Cheez Whiz. Spread it on bread or crackers, stir it with newly cooked pasta or thin it a little with water and use as a vegetable dip. I especially love the Pesto Cheese Spread with toast — my idea of a perfect breakfast or midday snack.

I love Bravo!’s Pesto Cheese spread. I try to bribe friends who’ll be going home to the Philippines to buy me a bottle or two for my pantry.

This is right up my alley, I heart multigrain bread, cheese (any shape or form) AND pesto! Yum. I don’t think I’ve seen this spread in the supermarkets I frequent; where can I get this, Ms. Connie?

If you want more of Uncle George products, you can visit their Greenhills store located at the food delicacies tiangge. They are known for gourmet and healthy breads at reasonable prices. Try their bestseller, chicken pastel, so yummy! I also like their apple raisin bread, blueberry cream cheese, banana walnut bread, cheese loaf and pesto baguette. Healthy breads like wheat, multigrain, rye, etc are also available.

I discovered an Uncle George’s stall too at the Sunday Sidcor Market. Love their tiger loaf! Also found a Bravo stall in SM Megamall. My eyes almost popped out at all the yummy stuff they have on offer.
