Shopewise’s pandan-macapuno cake

Shopewise’s pandan-macapuno cake looks gorgeous. That’s the reason I chose it for our wedding anniversary dessert after a wonderful early dinner at the Vieux Chalet Swiss Inn. Everyone in my family loves pandan and the combination of pandan with macapuno was just too much to resist. I should have resisted though. Shopewise’s pandan-macapuno cake should be avoided like the plague.

Shopwises pandan-macapuno cake

The bread is dry. The macapuno tastes like some cheap and poor imitation of macapuno. The icing was too thick. Made me think the icing was meant to hide the horrors inside it. Honestly. I mean. I’m not good at baking and I’ve had cake disasters more than a few times but I can do something better than this horrible, horrible thing.

If you’re planning on buying Shopewise’s pandan-macapuno cake for a gift or a token of appreciation or something, please don’t. The recipient might think you’re insulting him. And if you’re planning on buying Shopewise’s pandan-macapuno cake for your kid’s birthday party, don’t. Once you kid tastes it, he’ll cry. I almost did.
