Soup tricks

We were having grilled lamb chops for dinner and I was going to serve it with a can of corn kernels. We were also having soup– straight from the pouch. It was powdered ham and corm corn soup, the kind you dissolve in water then cook gently until thick. I was about to drain the corn when I thought of using the liquid to make the soup. So I did.

The soup pack called for 800 ml. of water. Of course, the corn liquid was much less than 800 ml. I put the corn liquid in a measuring cup then added water to make 800 ml.

For added panache, drizzle about half a teaspoon of steak sauce into every bowl of soup. Sprinkle some chopped parsley and serve.
