Ingredients :
350 g. of beef sirloin or tenderloin, sliced very, very thinly
1 tray of fresh straw mushrooms (or 1 can if fresh mushrooms are not available), cut in half lengthwise
1 carrot, julienned
1 bunch of onion leaves, cut into 1-1/2″ lengths
1 onion, halved and sliced thinly
1 tbsp. of finely minced garlic
1 tbsp. of light soy sauce
1/2 c. of water
1-1/2 tbsp. of oyster sauce
1/2 tsp. of sugar
1/2 tsp. of salt
1/4 tsp. of pepper
1 tsp. of cornstarch
1/2 tsp. of sesame seed oil
2 tbsp. of cooking oil
Cooking procedure :
Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. Season with the light soy sauce.
Heat a heavy skillet or wok. Pour in the cooking oil and heat to smoking point. Stir-fry the beef slices for about 30 seconds. Add the carrot strips and mushrooms. Continue cooking for another 30 seconds. Mix together the water, cornstarch, oyster sauce, sugar, salt, pepper and sesame seed oil. Pour into the beef and vegetables, stirring to prevent lumps. Cook just until the sauce is thick and clear. Turn off the heat and add the onion leaves. Stir a few times. Serve at once.

Hi Connie,
I just noticed, you didn’t mention when to put in the sliced onions. Is this while stir frying the beef? Thanks.
Oh, sorry, before the carrot strips and mushrooms.
Thanks, I forgot to ask the garlic as well. Is it before stir frying the beef? Thanks again
Same time as the onion.
