Zensho Teppanyaki Restaurant and Sushi Bar

Zensho's all-you-can-eat promo: no buffet tables but a la carte style

One thing about Japanese food is that they’re no good unless freshly prepared. That’s why many say that Saisaki’s eat-all-you-can buffet is second, or even third, class. Zensho Teppanyaki Restaurant and Sushi Bar, along Tomas Morato near the corner of Roces Avenue in Quezon City, has an eat-all-you-can promo too, with a twist. It’s a la carte style. For PhP485++ per person on weekends (PhP385++ on weekdays), you can order, and eat, from a set menu but the food will be prepared only as you order. We were tempted but there were dishes we wanted to order that were not on the eat-all-you-can menu. So we went for a straight a la carte dinner last Sunday.

Zensho is my favorite Japanese Restaurant but only next to Furusato which really tops my list. My family has been Zensho customers for years. The first time we ate there, my kids were still in pre-school. They’re 13 and 12 now and the fact that we still love Zensho should tell you something. Before we moved to the suburb, we were regulars. We even had a special table which always happened to be available every time we went there. It felt kinda nostalgic occupying the very same table again on Sunday evening. We arrived just before the dinner crowd started filling the place.

It was a celebration dinner, actually. My husband came home on Saturday afternoon from their annual conference with two awards and, well, we felt like celebrating. I was sick (caught some bug) when he got home but I felt well enough to go out on Sunday evening. Course I had a relapse later that night but I did enjoy the dinner at Zensho’s.
